Happy June, Academy Families!
Our 2025 Summer Recitals are in full swing, and Week 1 was a huge success! Big congratulations to all the students who’ve already performed—you crushed it! We’re excited to cheer on the rest of our amazing performers this weekend.
Want to come support our students? Recitals will be held at the W.W. Hootie Johnson Performance Hall in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina (1014 Greene St, Level 1). Recital will take place this Friday, June 27, through Sunday, June 29.

In case you missed it, all three schools will be closed for Summer Break from July 3–6, 2025. There are no makeups for this break—tuition is based on a 48-week year. We don’t charge extra when there are 5 lessons in a month, and we don’t charge less when there are only 3. For more info, check out our Policies and Procedures. We wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday!

Musical Ladder System® Achievements!
The Columbia Arts Academy, Lexington School of Music, and Irmo Music Academy are the only Midlands music schools where students earn colorful wristbands, trophies, and certificates through the patented Musical Ladder System®, created by Academy Director Marty Fort and used nationwide. Some schools offer trophies and certificates, but none excite students like the Musical Ladder System® wristbands they proudly show off to friends.
