Update From Director Marty Fort!

Read the latest update from Director Marty Fort:

Happy May, Academy families!

Firstly, I wanted to take a minute and thank all of the families and students who dropped a happy note for their teacher during Teacher Appreciation week.  Thank you, as always, to our awesome teachers!  We love having you with us and thank you for all that you do!

2023 is an exciting year here at the Academy - It is the 20th Anniversary for the Columbia Arts Academy, the 10th Anniversary for the Lexington School of Music, and the 5th Anniversary for the Irmo Music Academy.  We'll be planning parties and celebrations this year, so keep an eye out!  As KISS says, 'Without our fans, we are nothing.' Students, without you, we would be nothing, and it has been our honor and greatest joy to be making music with our musical families for all these years, and we want to celebrate with you!

In June we will be returning to the Koger Center Orchestra room for six days of recitals!  Even if you opted out of performing, stop on by to check out the show and support your fellow students!

This July a number of our students will be representing the Academy at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall!  This will be the first time our Academy has performed at Carnegie Hall and we are are excited for this event!  We were blown away by the number of students who auditioned for the opportunity and look forward to organizing future performing events!

Students, families, and teachers - thank you again for an amazing 20, 10, and 5 years of making music and we are excited for the future!

Meet Our May Pet of the Month!

Introducing Murray, our awesome Pet of the Month for May! Murray is a Boykin puppy who loves spending time outside with his owner Jes, a Piano and Guitar student at the Irmo Music Academy!

Shout It, Shout It Out Loud: Student Spotlight

Irmo Music Academy Piano student, Leah, won Top 4th Grade Girl at the Math Olympiad this year! Way to go Leah!

Musical Ladder System® Achievements!

The Columbia Arts Academy, Lexington School of Music & Irmo Music Academy are the only music schools in the Midlands that gives their students the opportunity to earn special color wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests with the Musical Ladder System®. It was actually created by academy Director Marty Fort. It has been awarded multiple patents and is being used by schools nationwide.

Do other schools offer trophies and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students with smiling faces by giving them full color, really cool "Musical Ladder System®" wristbands that they can show off to their friends.

Welcome New Students!

Please Welcome the our new students who registered in May!
